Professor of Energy Policy Ref 744 School of Business, Management and Economics SPRU – Science Policy Research Unit Full time, permanent Salary range: Professorial Salary is determined by negotiation (The minimum full-time salary for a newly promoted Professor is £55,375 per annum) Closing date for applications: 3 November 2014 Expected start date: On or after 1 May 2015 Description We are seeking to appoint a Professor of Energy Policy at SPRU (Science Policy Research Unit) at the University of Sussex. The successful candidate will become the Director of the Sussex Energy Group (SEG) in SPRU and contribute to the research of the Centre on Innovation and Energy Demand (CIED). Founded in 1966, SPRU is internationally recognised as a leading centre of research on science, technology and innovation policy. Today, with over 50 faculty members, SPRU is proudly at the forefront of new ideas, problem-orientated research, inspiring teaching, and creative, high impact engagement with decision-makers across government, business and civil society. SEG is the largest research group within SPRU, one of the largest energy policy research groups in the UK and a core partner in the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. SEG undertakes rigorous, inter-disciplinary research on energy and climate policy, focusing in particular upon energy technology innovation, low carbon development and the transition to low carbon energy systems. SEG currently has over 20 researchers and support staff and 14 doctoral students and is funded from an array of public and private sector sources.
