CIFOR - Research Assistant
CIFOR is an international research and global knowledge institution committed to conserving forests and improving the livelihoods of people in the tropics. With Headquarters in Bogor, Indonesia and offices in Africa and South America, CIFOR works in over 30 countries worldwide and has links with researchers in 50 international, regional and national organizations. CIFOR is a member of the CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research). CIFOR is looking for a Research Assistant Under the supervision the Director General (DG), the Research Assistant will provide direct research, writing, and editing assistance to the DG.
Responsibilities:
Conduct web-based and library research to support presentations and publications being developed by the DG;
Prepare first drafts of speeches, PowerPoint presentations, book forwards, substantive correspondence, and other documents to be finalized by the DG;
Edit documents prepared by others that require DG approval;
Take and write up minutes of monthly Management Group and occasionally other meetings chaired by the DG;
Perform other tasks as may be required to support the smooth functioning of the Director General Office (DGO).
Requirements:
Bachelors or masters degree in related field;
Proficiency in English equivalent to a native speaker, proficiency in other international languages is desirable;
Excellent research, writing, and editing skills;
General familiarity with topics that are the focus of CIFOR’s research;
Ability to coordinate effectively with staff at all levels, manage multiple tasks, and work to deadlines;
Strong computer skills in word processing and other relevant office applications software packages;
Demonstrated high degree of courtesy, tact, discretion, good judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality;
Strong service orientation, creativity, and capability to be flexible to respond to changing requirements.
