Regional Program Manager for North Sumatra Province – RPM North Sumatra
S1 or equivalent in agriculture extension, animal husbandry rural sociology, community development or public administration with more than 5 years experience at similar position at like minded organization and be responsible for coordinating the implementation of various project/program at regional level. Master degree preferred. This position offered a salary range between 4,5 million – 7,5 million/month.

Job Title : North Sumatra Regional Program Manager

Department : Asia/South Pacific Program

FUNCTION

The Regional Program Manager will develop program expansion of Heifer International Indonesia and will

devote his/her full time to coordinate the implementation various project/program at regional level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Explore possibilities for new projects, partners, and make recommendation to the Country Director;

• Review project requests to Heifer from North Sumatra Region, screen potential projects partners and

make recommendation to the Country Director;

• Develop strategies for improving the effectiveness of projects in North Sumatra region;

• Oversee the overall implementation of the project: visiting sites, helping to decide appropriate

assistance for community based on holistic approach and work out plans for passing on the gift;

• Implement project, visiting sites, helping to decide appropriate program intervention and prepare

relevant report;

• Ensure all projects and project partners meet standard for accountability and ensure financial

accountability are applied by project partners;

• Coordinate with Training Manager to assist project partners in implementation of various trainings,

farmers field trip, exchange visit, study tour etc. in order to strengthen project partners’ capacity;

• In Coordination with Planning Monitoring Evaluation Manager, monitor/supervise and evaluate

project implementation in North Sumatra region and provide necessary guidance for partner

organizations to increase their effectiveness;

• Establish and maintain relationships with local governments, other public and private agencies, local

NGOs, and other community development organizations directly or indirectly in North Sumatra;

• Assist CD and coordinate with Information and Communication Manager, to represent Heifer

Indonesia at official functions and when necessary speak on behalf of the Heifer Indonesia, in

regional level;

• Supervise Technical Officer and Program Officer.

• Seek continued growth in the knowledge of Heifer International programs and issues of hunger and

poverty

• Perform other job-related duties as requested

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor degree or equivalent in social science, agricultural extension, animal science, agriculture, rural

sociology, community development or public administration with more than 5 years experience at similar

position at like minded organizations. Master degree in the above fields will be preferred; other job related

education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of and experience in program design, program implementation, monitoring and

evaluation with or within community development organizations;

• Skills with word processing and spreadsheet software;

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles;

• Ability to communicate in written and oral English and Bahasa Indonesia;

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively. It is estimated that this position require 1/3 to ½ of

traveling to project sites;

• Ability to cooperate effectively with team members, our project partners, and other organizations

supporting them;

• Ability to foster and maintain a spirit of unity, teamwork, and cooperation among all personnel;

• Sensitivity in working with multiple cultures and beliefs.
