RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Engility Corporation, building on IRG’s legacy in international development, seeks an experienced Climate Change Adaptation, Mitigation and Training Senior Specialist to support Engility’s current and anticipated USAID-funded projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Climate Change Adaptation, Mitigation and Training Senior Specialist will provide technical assistance through current and future projects, support new business and contribute to company learning and knowledge management in the domains of climate vulnerability, adaptation to climate variability and climate change mitigation, including low emission development and sustainable landscapes. The Senior Specialist will also contribute to preparation and delivery of a range of GCC training and capacity building activities.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of a Master’s degree related to climate change, urban development, natural resources management, or related area required
Proven experience conducting or managing climate change vulnerability and adaptation assessments
Must have at least 4-7 years of progressively responsible international work experience related to climate change
Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to technical issues and programs
Experience collaborating with stakeholders in a variety of settings to understand and identify adaptation and/or low emission development options
Comprehensive knowledge and work experience in technical, scientific, socioeconomic, and cultural aspects of global climate change policy as it relates to international development
Demonstrated knowledge or experience with topics related to climate change mitigation and low emission development strategies
Experience in designing and conducting global climate change-related training and facilitating stakeholder workshops focused on climate vulnerability and adaptation planning
Previous experience on USAID projects
Excellent writing and editing skills and strong attention to detail
Fluency in English with working competency in another language preferred
International travel required (approximately 2-4 trips per year)
